Welcome to the Online Learning Academy (OLA)!

ATTENTION:

  • Middle and High School Tutoring has been PAUSED as of Fall 2024. 
  • Tutoring for Math, Science, and Writing is available to UH-system UNDERGRADUATE students ONLY. This DOES NOT include Early College students.

For returning students, please be sure to select “2024 Fall Writing” or “2024 Fall Math and Science” from the login page to schedule with the appropriate subject tutor. If you have difficulty logging into your account, please reset your password.

For new students, please register for an account by clicking the link to the left. 
Please use your University of Hawaii email account: student@hawaii.edu.

SCHEDULED TUTORING ONLY: You may schedule a tutoring session as soon as 30 minutes before your desired time.

To schedule a tutoring session,

  1. Select “2024 Fall Writing” or “2024 Fall Math and Science” from the login page.
  2. Go to the calendar
  3. Click a WHITE BOX with your desired starting time. 
    1. Writing Tutoring: Your end time will be automatically set for 45-minutes appointments.
    2. Math/Science Tutoring: Appointments are set for 20 minutes and can be extended in 20 minute increments as needed.
  4. Optional: Upload material (i.e., drafts, outlines, assignment sheets, rubrics, etc.) to prepare your tutor.
  5. You DO NOT NEED to have completed work to meet with a tutor--we can help you GET STARTED!
  6. Click "Create Appointment" to complete setting up.
    1. After, you will receive an email confirming your selected time.
    2. Come back at your designated time, and click the calendar to access your appointment.
    3. A dialog box will pop open with the link to join the session ("Start Or Join Online Consultation").  

NO SHOW POLICY: Please show respect for the valuable time of our tutors and fellow students. Do not schedule appointments if you are unsure of or cannot make your reserved time slot(s). If an emergency arises, please email ola@hawaii.edu as soon as possible to cancel your appointment. After three no-shows, users will be banned from scheduling any further appointments until they contact ola@hawaii.edu or by calling 808-956-3714. Appointments will be counted as "No Shows" and cancelled when students are not present by 15 minutes after the start of the scheduled session.
