Welcome to the Online Learning Academy (OLA)!

In Spring 2025, OLA tutoring will move to STAR Balance. OLA will continue to provide free tutoring (Math, Science, and Writing) for UH-system undergraduates through the STAR Balance platform.

Please download all notes and documents from the MyWCOnline portal by January 31, 2025 as OLA's contract with MyWCOnline ends on February 1, 2025.

OLA's Math/Science Drop-in Tutoring Kiosk has opened!

OLA provide free math and science tutoring from the comfort of your computer. From quick questions to understanding concepts, Math and Science drop-in tutoring is great for all your studying needs! All OLA tutors are college students just like you!

What Subjects Do We Tutor?

• Mathematics (Up to Calc II)

• Biology (Up to BIOL 172)

• Chemistry (Up to CHEM 162)

• Physics (Up to PHYS 272)

Here's How To Access OLA's Math/Science Kiosk:

1. Log in to our STAR Balance kiosk during open hours.
2. Join the queue by clicking “Enter” on the right, and complete the drop-in purpose form.
3. The queue may last for approximately 5-10 minutes. While you're waiting, complete the “Math/Science Pre-Appointment Form" to help your tutor know what subject and assignment you'd like help on.
4. When a tutor is available, you'll receive an email titled “BALANCE Alert;” this contains your Zoom link. 
5. Enter the Zoom and meet with your tutor!

• Sundays: 5:00-9:00 pm

• Mondays - Thursdays: 3:00-9:00 pm

OLA's Writing Tutoring will open in late February 2025!
